Europe Plans To Suspend Passport-Free Travel

The migrant crises have been on a rise in the recent years. Before this, Europe has been generous when it came to passport-free travel. In the recent times, the interior ministry of Europe proposed to suspend this action for a few years. This also comes with increasing the border checks of 26 European countries for a better security.

Europe has always been one of the most desired travel destinations. Tourists from all over the world make their way to Europe because of its scenic beauty and the rich history. The culture and amazing attractions make it a favorable destination to make your way towards no matter what part of the globe you are.

Apart from tourism, Europe has always been a top choice for settlement reasons as well. Because of the recent unrest happening in different parts of the world, the migrant’s influx has caused a complex situation for the Europeans.

The ministry suggests that these measures have become inevitable and are likely to be only adopted because Schengen zone stays at a huge risk otherwise. Borders such as Germany and Austria, and Sweden and Denmark already have the relevant security checks. The suspension of passport-free travel proposal might be implemented for at least two years. If implemented, this is considered to be one of the huge achievements in trying to establish and strengthen the Schengen Zone.

Europe is all set to implement the changes, and these are likely to have huge implications on tourism in the Schengen zone. For how long this suspension of passport-free travel takes place is only a matter of time.
